Advice on the Amended Guidelines for Extending the Storage Period of Gametes and Embryos
This report advises the Minister of Health about ACART’s amended Guidelines for Extending the Storage Period of Gametes and Embryos.
The new guidelines state that people with stored embryos do not need to seek consent from the donors of the gametes that were used to create embryos, when the people with the embryos are applying to extend the storage of those embryos.
The advice was submitted to the Minister of Health Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall in May 2023.
