Guidelines on Donation of Eggs or Sperm between Certain Family Members

These guidelines set out what ECART must determine and take into account when considering an application for donation of eggs or sperm between certain family members.

Donation of eggs or sperm (‘gametes’) between family members can occur between family members in the same generation, or between family members of different generations.

The guidelines have been amended, coming into effect on 16 December 2013. The amendments are a consequence of changes to the surrogacy guidelines.
